Writer/Director/Producer Heather E. Connell is a free-lance screenwriter. She studied screenwriting and theatre arts at Salem State College in Salem, Massachusetts before relocating to Los Angeles. She completed additional graduate work with the Hollywood Screenwriting Institute and spent a year mentoring with Producer Eve Ladue (The Talented Mr. Ripley; Men of Honor.)Her directorial debut, Choosing Your Course, was completed in the winter of 2002. Black/White marked a new level of filmmaking for Displaced Yankee Productions. Black/White was completed in Spring of 2004 with a showing at the Palm Springs Film Festival.Small Voices was her first international feature length documentary. After an award winning festival run, including a Gold Medal at the 2009 New York International Film and Video Awards, and 2nd place for Best Documentary at the 2008 Rhode Island International Film Festival, the Small Voices DVD is set for a December 8, 2009 release.
